Cooking Matters at the Store
In celebration of Food Day 2016, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s effective nutrition education program to help end hunger in our community is coming Oct. 24th to a Food Lion near you!
Cooking Matters At The Store is a 90 minute tour that teaches low income participants how to buy healthy food on a budget.

All Food Day tours are held at Food Lion locations. Participants can sign up at the store. Registration begins at 3:15 pm. Limited to first come, first served. Each location is offering 6 tours, starting at 3:45 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 4:15 pm, 5:00 pm, 5:15 pm and 5:30 pm.

Eastway Elementary School
Come celebrate Food Day on Monday October 24th at Eastway Elementary! Together in partnership with Durham School Nutrition Services, Farmer Foodshare, and Durham Innovative Nutrition Education (DINE), we are hosting a squash casserole cafeteria taste test. That’s right, 600 students, hundreds of pounds of locally grown squash, and one amazing celebration!
