How to Get Involved

Hunger is unacceptable, and we believe it can be fixed. Working together, we CAN end hunger in our community. You can help us feed, teach, and grow in many ways:

Volunteer.

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle runs on volunteer power,  and there are many ways to lend a hand. We have opportunities Monday-Saturday for groups and individuals, one-time opportunities, and ways to engage longer-term. Learn more and sign up here.

Donate.

With your support, we feed, we teach, we grow, and together we can transform the community. Every dollar makes a difference. Donate today!

Want to invest in Inter-Faith Food Shuttle over the long term? Become a sustaining Ground Level Giver with monthly giving. Grow the power of food with a convenient monthly donation of $25, $35, $50, or any amount you choose through safe, secure, and automatic online donations.

Attend a Lunch & Learn

Join us from noon-1pm for a behind-the-scenes tour and lunch with the Food Shuttle’s leadership team. While with us, you will learn about our current strategies to beat hunger throughout our region. Lunch will be provided by IFFS’ for-hire catering program, Catering for a Cause. Email Ryan@FoodShuttle.org for more info or to reserve a seat.

2017 Lunch & Learn Dates

Start or Join a Fundraiser.

You can conveniently set up your own fundraising page on our website or support us through an existing campaign. Do you run a local business?  We welcome support from the business community, too! We even have suggestions for successful food and fund drives to guide you!

Hold a Food Drive.

We always need items to send home with hungry children over the weekend through BackPack Buddies, to supply Grocery Bags for Seniors, and to stock our in-school pantries. Learn more about successful food drives & most-needed items here.

How can kids help?

Kids often inspire us by coming up with their own brilliant ideas for how to help end hunger in their own communities – through asking for charitable donations instead of birthday gifts, organizing their own food drives, and other creative ways to make a difference! Learn more here.

Request a Speaker.

Want to spread the word about Inter-Faith Food Shuttle?  Want to learn more about a specific programs and how your group can get involved?  Let us know! Please fill out this form at least 3 weeks prior to your requested date, and we’ll find the best person to speak to you. We do not have a required speaking fee, but welcome donations to help offset the cost of staff time.

Advocate.

Lend your voice to the cause! The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle actively supports the advocacy efforts of Feeding America and Food Research & Action Center (FRAC).  We believe that systemic changes must be made if there is going to be an end to hunger in our county, our country or in the world. We encourage everyone who cares about the issues of hunger to follow legislative actions and advocate for policies that will help ensure access to enough healthy, fresh food for all members of our community.

Donate your compost to grow our gardens!

CompostNow logoWe’ve partnered with CompostNow, a community food waste shuttle. They’ll pick up your food scraps, turn them into a nutrient-rich soil that’s great for growing produce, and give the soil to IFFS to use in our community and urban gardens! Sign up here.

Donate items from our Wish List.

Help us increase our ability to reach more hungry people in the Triangle area and continue to expand our programs by providing us with the resources we need to do so. We love gift cards to Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target, Home Depot, AgriSupply, Northern Tool, Staples, or Amazon. We also always need gas cards and CAT bus passes.
