    Cooking Matters!

Cooking Matters is an interactive, cooking-based nutrition program for families at risk of hunger. A team of volunteer culinary and nutrition experts teach six-week long courses that engage low-income families, kids, teens and adults through nationally developed curricula. These courses equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to improve their nutrition practices, eating habits, and food budgeting skills. Cooking Matters is a partnership of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Share Our Strength (SOS). If you would like to volunteer and be part of a class as a chef, nutritionist, or class support, contact [javascript protected email address] or give us a call at (919-250-0043).

The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle hosted a Cooking Matters class at Longview Alternative High School. Students and volunteers worked side by side to learn how to cook and eat healthier produce using produce grown from their on-site garden.
