DESCRIPTION:Growing Stronger Communities: Sustainable Agriculture for Nutrition Security is the first-of-its-kind convening of a nationwide network committed to helping communities achieve nutrition security through strengthened local\, sustainable food systems. Hosted by Inter-Faith Food Shuttle in its home city of Raleigh\, North Carolina from November 5-7\, 2025\, it will bring together community members from all sectors to learn\, share and collaborate to advance sustainable agriculture for community nutrition security. \nIn addition to General Sessions\, breakout sessions will follow these three tracks:  \n\nPlant More Locally. In communities across the country\, tools\, resources\, innovations\, and spaces exist to increase how much nutritious food underserved communities produce themselves. In this track attendees share tips on where and how to find and use tools and resources in their communities. \n\n\nCultivate Better Health. We are as healthy as the food we eat. This track explores how to enhance food is medicine work. \n\n\nHarvest Opportunities Together. In this workshop\, “Spring Planting: Sprout into Spring\,” you will learn how to transition your Winter garden\, transplant seedlings\, and steps for continued maintenance after planting. \nIn this class\, we will review our Spring Planning workshop and discuss how to transition your Winter Garden. We will also discuss how to plant Spring transplants with healthy soil by adding fertilizer and compost. Lastly\, we will cover how to sow seeds\, along with proper spacing\, watering\, and crop rotation. This class takes place outside\, so make sure to bring warm layers! While the workshops build on each other\, you do not need to have attended any previous classes to register for others. \nLocation: Camden Street Learning Garden\, 807 E Davie St\, Raleigh\, NC 27601.
