Caring for Your Winter Garden Workshop

  • Geer St. Learning Garden 110 East Geer Street Durham, NC, 27701 United States (map)

Geer Street Learning Garden is hosting a four-part Introduction to Fall and Winter Gardening workshop series. In our first three workshops, we covered how to design, plant, and harvest your fall garden. In this workshop, "Caring for Your Winter Garden," you will learn about winter vegetable garden maintenance!

In this class, participants will learn the key components to keep your plants warm and healthy in Winter. We’ll discuss average first and last frost dates, cold hardiness of different crops, using row covers, mulching, and other ways to prepare for the cold and protect your garden through the Winter months. The class will start indoors and finish in the Garden, if weather permits. While the workshops build on each other, you do not need to have attended any previous classes to register for others.
