Most of us remember summer as a time of fun and freedom. Yet for the 1 in 5 children in North Carolina facing chronic hunger, summer is also a time of uncertainty over where their next meal will come from. Parents and families across our communities look forward to the relief of knowing their children will have those two guaranteed, nutritious weekday meals with the start of the school year.
That’s why we’re launching our annual Back-to-School campaign with a goal to raise $200,000. This funding will help support our BackPack Buddies program and School Choice Pantries, which provide essential food access to students and their families outside of what our partner schools can provide. This is critical because for every child facing hunger, there are families and caregivers facing impossible choices between housing, utilities, and food. Together, we can meet the nutritional needs of thousands of children in our community!

Their dedication to alleviating hunger allows your gift to be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $60,000.
