Our favorite neighborhood composing service, CompostNow is teaming up with Hungry Harvest, & Trophy on Maywood to fight scary Halloween food waste!

Most of the 1.3 billion pounds of pumpkins produced in the U.S. end up in the landfill. We think there's a better way to use old pumpkins which is why we're hosting a free community event “Smash Don’t Trash” on Saturday, November 3rd from 12 pm-4 pm at Trophy Brewing on Maywood. 

Community members are encouraged to bring their old pumpkins to be composted rather than landfilled! The event will host pumpkin smashing stations, informational booths, and music. Food is available by purchase from Wandering Moose food truck. All compost created from “Smash Don’t Trash” will be shared with the Food Shuttle’s Camden St. Learning Garden.
