Racial Equity Training

Join us for a one-day training on Racial Equity in Farm to School (k-12) at the intersections of food and education!

Training is led by we are, working to extend anti-racist education www.weare-nc.org and hosted by the center for environmental farming systems and the farm to school coalition of NC www.farmtoschoolcoalitionnc.org .

The training is open to anyone doing work related to farm to school (k-12), from hands on educators, school nutrition, farmers, school personnel, community support, PTA, Cooperative Extension/FCS, school boards, parents and volunteers.

Lunch is included, but pre-registration required by May 1st.

Location will be announced on May 3rd with an email confirmation of registration.

Some funding is available to reimburse schools for teacher substitutes:

The Center for Environmental Farming Systems will provide $100 per teacher until funds are gone. These will come as reimbursements from NCSU, so may take six weeks to receive.

Priority will be given to folks coming in pairs or teams from schools/areas in order to encourage communities of practice moving forward, though individuals are welcome and we will seek to create networks of folks for continued support. For those coming in teams, we also encourage you to intentionally come in inter-racial teams where possible, which will support your work going forward as well as bring racial diversity to the group of attendees.
