Geer Street Learning Garden is hosting a Spring Gardening workshop 4-part series. In the second workshop, titled "Spring Planting: Sprout into Spring," participants will learn how to transition their winter gardens, transplant seedlings, and maintain their gardens after planting.
During this class, we will review the material from our Spring Planning workshop and discuss how to transition from a winter garden. We will also cover how to plant spring transplants using healthy soil enhanced with fertilizer and compost. Additionally, we will explore techniques for sowing seeds, ensuring proper spacing, watering effectively, and practicing crop rotation. Please note that this class will take place outdoors, so be sure to dress in warm layers! While the workshops are designed to build on each other, prior attendance at previous classes is not required to register for this one.
Location: 110 E Geer Street, Durham, NC 27701. Geer Street Learning Garden. There should be a sign outside the garden that says, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Event" and a greeter outside to guide you.
