Geer Street Learning Garden is hosting a special topics workshop called, "Fungi and Fun: A Hands-On Mushroom Workshop". In this workshop, you will learn how to inculcate logs with Shiitake mushrooms. We'll discuss best practices for storing mushroom logs and how to yield the most fruit.
We recommend getting to this event 10 minutes early to give you time to sign in and get settled before beginning. The rain date for this event is March 15th, 9:30-11:30. If we choose to cancel due to weather, we will notify you 24 hours in advance via email.
Location: Our Geer Street Learning Garden is located at 110 E. Geer Street, Durham, NC 27701. There should be a sign that says, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Event" and a greeter outside to guide you.
Parking: There is free parking available across the street on the lawn next to Bull City Cool and the adjacent Mangum and Roxboro Streets (see aerial photo below for more information).
Things to bring and wear: Snacks and water bottles, pens/pencils, notepads. Masks are not required, but you are encouraged to wear one if it makes you feel more comfortable or if you have any airborne disease symptoms. Please wear closed-toed shoes for this hands-on workshop.
Allergies, please note: Bees and fire ants are present in the garden. Participants with allergies should bring appropriate medication and alert staff members of your allergies.
