The Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) recently partnered with Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to raise funds in efforts to feed hungry families, children, and seniors affected by COVID-19. DPAC set up a community fundraising page and sent out an email to alert the arts center’s Season Seat Members and Friends of DPAC. The response has been amazing. As of this posting, the effort has raised over $43,000 with more than 800 donations contributed. Bob Klaus, General Manager of DPAC, had this to say about the campaign, “For quite some time I had been aware of the good work of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle from conversations with DPAC’s good friend Michael Goodmon. When DPAC first closed and we thought about what kinds of things DPAC could help with while our events had been postponed, a food drive was our very first thought. All food banks and food drives in this region are important. It was the tremendous track record of Inter-Faith though, and how many meals they are able to place in the community per dollar donated, that made us feel this was the best organization for DPAC and our DPAC community to connect with and support. We are so appreciative of everyone that has been part of this.” You can see the Durham Performing Arts Center community fundraising page here. The DPAC fundraising campaign for Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will continue through April 7th.
