Growing Goodness: Join Our Fight Against Hunger in North Carolina

In 1989, Jill Staton Bullard and Maxine Solomon, launched their mission to combat hunger in North Carolina. They began rescuing surplus food and distributing it to those in need and Inter-Faith Food Shuttle was born. Decades later, their legacy continues to Grow Goodness as we reach thousands of individuals with vital nourishment every week. We are also tackling the root causes of food insecurity through innovative programs that empower people to build stable and secure lives, and by advocating for policies that eliminate systemic barriers.

Despite our efforts, hunger is still an ongoing struggle in our communities. North Carolina ranks as the 10th hungriest state in the U.S., with over 1.2 million people grappling with food insecurity. Among them are children, seniors, families, and individuals who rely on Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to help ease the worry of where their next meal will come from.

But we cannot tackle this challenge alone. The road from surviving to thriving requires collective action and support.

Generous partners at North Raleigh United Methodist Church have pledged $50,000 in gift matching between April 1st and June 15th as part of the Blessing Initiative. Every donation during this period will be doubled, amplifying its effect in our fight against hunger.

This initiative is still going strong and it’s not too late to pledge your support. With your help, we can expand our reach, provide more nourishing meals, enhance community-wide nutrition education, and address the root causes of food insecurity.

Your investment isn’t just a donation; it’s a commitment to building stronger families and healthier communities. Please join us. Together, we are Growing Goodness.
