Empowering Futures: Celebrating Our Culinary Apprenticeship Program Graduates

We’re thrilled to share that on Friday, December 20, 2024, we celebrated the graduation of our latest class from the Culinary Apprenticeship Program (CAP), a collaboration between Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina.

This innovative program combines professional development, mentorship, and hands-on job training to empower unemployed and under-employed neighbors to seek careers in the culinary industry. We believe that combating hunger starts with addressing its root causes by equipping our neighbors with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.

The graduates of this class have shown incredible dedication and hard work throughout their training.  All of us at the Food Shuttle are immensely proud of the resilience and commitment they’ve displayed.

Additionally, this class of graduates is the first to receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) after the Culinary Apprenticeship Program became officially accredited by the American Culinary Federation Educational Facility in November 2024. We are excited to provide our graduates with this additional step forward in their academic and professional journeys.

Our four graduates from this cohort included:

Chaun McNeely

Tramesha Harrison

David Royster

Gavin Brown (not pictured)

Congratulations to all the graduates for your hard work and determination toward achieving your goals. We can’t wait to see the impact you will make in the culinary world and beyond.
