At Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, strong community partnerships make it possible to expand programs that nourish our neighbors and strengthen local food systems. We are grateful to recognize Publix Super Markets Charities (Publix Charities) for their continued investment in our mission.
Through their Alleviating Hunger grant, Publix Charities is supporting the Food Shuttle’s Child Hunger Programs and Agriculture initiatives, including our farm, community gardens, and agricultural education efforts. This support helps ensure children and families across our region have access to healthy food while also building long-term solutions to hunger.
Food insecurity can have lasting effects on children’s health, development, and ability to learn. Through our Child Hunger Programs, the Food Shuttle works to make sure kids have reliable access to nutritious meals when school meals are unavailable, helping families bridge the gap after school hours or when school is out for summer.
At the same time, our Agriculture programs connect food access with local food production. Through our farm, gardens, and agricultural education programs, we grow fresh produce, teach self-sufficiency, and create opportunities for community members to learn how healthy food is grown and shared. These programs strengthen the local food system while increasing access to fresh, nutritious foods.
Publix Super Markets Charities has been an incredible supporter of the Food Shuttle since 2014, helping expand programs that address hunger from multiple angles. Their partnership reflects a shared belief that every family deserves access to nourishing food and a healthy future.
