In April of this year, our Development and Communications team traveled to Chicago to attend the Digital Strategy Institute (DSI), hosted at the Feeding America National Office. Over the course of three days, we engaged with thought leaders, absorbed new strategies, and reimagined how digital tools can support our mission to end hunger.
Central to the conference was the concept of a moonshot: the idea of setting bold, transformative goals that push beyond what feels immediately achievable. It was a powerful challenge that invited us to look deeper at how our digital efforts can create meaningful, measurable impact.
We returned not only with practical takeaways, but with renewed energy and focus. The opportunity to learn, collaborate, and innovate alongside fellow food bankers was invaluable. We’re ready to apply what we’ve learned. These insights will help strengthen our fundraising and communications efforts, allowing us to reach more neighbors, deepen our engagement, and grow our impact.
After the conference, Feeding America awarded us a FY25 Fundraising Services DSI Implementation grant, so we could put what we learned into action. We’re deeply grateful to Feeding America for hosting this important convening and for investing in the professional growth of food banks. Because of this experience, we’re better equipped to dream bigger, act bolder, and serve stronger.
