Meet Corinth Holders Elementary School

At Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, we’re committed to strengthening our community by meeting our neighbors where they’re at, and that starts with meaningful partnerships. One of our partners in the fight against child hunger is Corinth Holders Elementary School, where we work together through our School Choice Pantries and Backpack Buddies programs.

At the heart of this partnership is Ashley Morton, who leads the School Choice Pantry. Ms. Morton involves her 5th grade students in setting up and organizing the pantry; a forward-thinking approach that helps reduce the stigma often associated with receiving food assistance. Because of this, the school has created a welcoming, judgment-free space where kids and their families feel supported and included.

At the Food Shuttle, we believe in the power of choice. We understand that when families are empowered to choose the foods they enjoy and know how to prepare, it not only reduces food waste but also fosters dignity and self-sufficiency. The pantry at Corinth Holders reflects that belief by offering a variety of items so families can select what works best for their individual needs.

Recognizing the school’s large Hispanic student population, Ms. Morton works closely with the Food Shuttle to ensure the pantry includes culturally relevant food options—another step toward creating a space that reflects the needs of every family.

We are grateful for our continued partnership with Corinth Holders Elementary. Thanks to their dedication, hundreds of students have gone home not just with nutritious food, but also with resources such as recipe cards and food preparation tips to help their families thrive. Together, we’re not just feeding our neighbors; we’re empowering them to meet their own food needs and build a stronger future.
