Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is grateful to be selected for support through the Community Response Fund, made possible by Ahold Delhaize Holdings Company in partnership with Feeding America. This support comes at a critical time, as hunger continues to rise and families across the country face challenges that can shift week to week.
The Community Response Fund was created to help food banks meet these realities head on. Nearly 50 million people nationwide are experiencing food insecurity, and local hunger relief organizations are feeling the strain. More individuals and families are turning to food banks like the Food Shuttle, trusting that we will be there when it matters. This funding helps ensure we can respond quickly and effectively, delivering support where it is needed most.
What makes this partnership especially meaningful is its global reach. The Global FoodBanking Network works with food banks in more than 50 countries, and Ahold Delhaize Group has long partnered with GFN to reduce food waste and expand access to surplus food worldwide. Their efforts continue to evolve to meet local needs and strengthen the communities their brands serve, including right here in the United States. We are honored that this commitment extends to supporting the Food Shuttle’s mission.
For our organization, this flexible funding allows us to stay nimble as needs shift across the Triangle. It strengthens our ability to source nutritious food, sustain our programs, and respond quickly when families, seniors, and children need us most. At the same time, it supports our ongoing work to build long term solutions to hunger.
We are deeply thankful to Ahold Delhaize Holdings Company, Feeding America, and the Global FoodBanking Network for their leadership and partnership. Together, we are part of a broader effort to ensure every neighbor has access to the food and support they need to thrive.
