Spooky Services at the Food Shuttle Scare Hunger

The season of ghosts and goblins turned into a season of doing good for others during Spooky Services at the Food Shuttle. Throughout the month of October, Volunteer Services invited groups and individuals to take part in Halloween fun while giving their time to help in various programs that benefit hunger relief programs.

For several weeks, volunteers for Grocery Bags for Seniors came dressed in their favorite costumes or in support of their cause of choice when they came to the Malone Center to bag up and deliver groceries to seniors living in low-income communities.

But, of course, Halloween itself was the big day. Werewolf Social Pack Hours at the Were-House, Croptoberfest at the Food Shuttle Farm and Monster Pack for BackPack Buddies were all big draws for volunteer teams and individuals. In addition to the usual volunteer service opportunities at each site, there were games, music, costumes and, of course, candy.

Organized by Volunteer Services Manager Mynikah Stokes, Spooky Services at the Food Shuttle is another way to incorporate fun and fellowship into the volunteer experience at Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, and to demonstrate the enormous appreciation we have for those who give their time and talent to make all that we do here possible.
