Jon Showalter is the newest member of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Board of Directors. Jon is a longtime supporter of the Food Shuttle and is honored to join the Board. He looks forward to incorporating his many years of volunteering experience along with his business acumen to help lead the Food Shuttle into the future.
Professionally, Jon serves as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Homes by Dickerson, a regional custom home builder based in Raleigh. He recently celebrated his 25th anniversary with the company. Jon spent the first half of his career in the field as a project manager before moving inside to help create a more robust back office support team and process. Along the way, Jon has been influential in leading Homes by Dickerson to build High Performance homes, creating custom homes built with specific attention to providing clients with homes that are more energy efficient, comfortable to live in, durable and have a reduced impact on the environment through the use of better building practices and smarter building components. Under Jon’s leadership, Homes by Dickerson has celebrated a decade of building all of their homes to receive both the Department of Energy’s Energy Star and the Home Innovation’s National Green Building Standard Certifications.
Jon is a 1993 graduate of Virginia Tech, living in Raleigh with his wife Becky since 1994. Together they have raised two children, Noah and Kylie. Since arriving in Raleigh, the Showalter family has attended Church of the Nativity where they were first introduced to the Inter Faith Food Shuttle and began volunteering. In 2005, Jon and Becky began driving a food delivery truck from the Food Shuttle to the Episcopal Farm Ministry in Newton Grove every month, until the route was no longer feasible. Over the years, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle has provided the Showalter family with an opportunity to support an organization that truly makes a difference in the community.
