NBA legend and Hall of Famer Michael Jordan announced a $2 million donation to Feeding America and member food banks in the Carolinas and Chicago on November 25. The money came from the proceeds of the documentary series The Last Dance. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will receive a portion of the gift to support highest-need communities, with a particular focus on addressing racial disparities in hunger in the region.
“In these challenging times and in a year of unimaginable difficulty due to COVID-19, it’s more important than ever to pause and give thanks. I’m proud to be donating additional proceeds from The Last Dance to Feeding America and its member food banks in the Carolinas and Chicago to help feed America’s hungry,” said Michael Jordan about his gift.
Mr. Jordan made his gift to support communities where he has lived and worked in Illinois and the Carolinas.
