We are pleased to recognize our generous supporters at The Leon Levine Foundation, who recently provided a multi-year gift in support of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Gifts like this are vital in furthering our mission to eliminate hunger and create a healthy and hunger-free community.
The Leon Levine Foundation first partnered with the Food Shuttle in 2018 as part of our end -of -year match campaign with The Steward's Fund. Their annual general operating gift has been crucial for our ability to meet the greatest needs of neighbors experiencing hunger. In the last five years, they have supported us with over half a million dollars.
Established in 1980, The Leon Levine Foundation is committed to improving the human condition through investments in education, healthcare, human services, and Jewish values. Based in Charlotte, N.C., the Foundation invests in nonprofits across North Carolina and South Carolina that demonstrate strong leadership, a track record of success, and a plan for financial sustainability. Through its investments, the Foundation aims to create pathways to self-sufficiency, champion strategies for permanent change, and facilitate opportunities for growth.
“We are pleased to support Inter-Faith Food Shuttle with a multi-year gift this year,” said Tom Lawrence, President & Chief Executive Officer of The Leon Levine Foundation. “The Food Shuttle is innovative in its approach, providing targeted and purposeful services that help tackle food insecurity in the greater Triangle area.”
At Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, we are dedicated to implementing real solutions to end hunger. Our programs range from food rescue and distribution to health education and agricultural programs, making a tangible impact on food insecurity in our community. The funding from The Leon Levine Foundation will support our general operations which allows us to distribute resources where they are needed most.
Thank you, Leon Levine Foundation, for joining us in the fight against hunger!
