It takes many partnerships and thoughtful collaborations to make the mission of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle a reality. By providing food directly to partner agencies, our neighbors have access to nutritious produce, pantry staples, household supplies, and more right in their own neighborhoods. One of those partner agencies is Covenant Life Fellowship.
Covenant Life Fellowship is a faith community in Raleigh, NC. Their partnership with Inter-Faith Food Shuttle began with a desire to further serve members of their community faced with food insecurity.
“Our mantra at Covenant Life Fellowship is beyond the building, what we do is beyond the building,” Bev Porter, operator of the pantry at Covenant Life Fellowship, said. “And so, saying that means understanding that burden. Pastor decided we were gonna open up a food pantry. He didn’t know what it would look like. He didn’t know where the resources were gonna come from, but we had a need to solve, and that was the birth.”
Since partnering with the Food Shuttle, Covenant Life fellowship now receives consistent resources to supply its weekly pantry distributions.
“On the food distribution day, it’s like a party. We are creating relationships with them. We know our neighbors, we know what they need. We know how many people are in their families, what they like, what they don’t like. When they come here, it’s like they’re a part of the family now. No matter who you are,” Porter said.
Now, Covenant Life Fellowship has expanded its partnership with the Food Shuttle to include our Senior Feeding program and is deepening agricultural initiatives through community garden beds. Thanks to their passion and partnership, our neighbors are receiving quality food at no cost.
We are so grateful for our partnership with Covenant Life Fellowship, and we are excited to see our shared impact continue to expand. Revisit when our President and CEO, Ron Pringle, visited Covenant Life Fellowship for Gratitude Tuesday 2025 below.
