Showing up this Summer at the Food Shuttle

Across North Carolina, Summer Meals Programs, supported by the USDA, provide free, nutritious meals at parks, schools, and faith-based centers—helping ensure that hunger doesn’t take hold when school is out. With over 900,000 students relying on school meals, our presence is more vital than ever.

Many of the children we serve at our School Choice Pantries spend their summers at camp, and we’re right there with them, continuing to provide the same care and nourishment they count on. Meals are served at no cost to eligible children, ensuring that every child can enjoy their summer without worrying about their next meal.

While summer may feel like a break, hunger never takes a break. At Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, our work doesn’t slow down—we rise early, preparing fresh, wholesome meals that are as nutritious as they are enjoyable.

This work is more than just food. It’s about showing up, standing alongside our neighbors, and making sure no one is left behind. Whether in school, summer camps, or at home, we are there doing what is needed.

When a child is hungry, their family likely feels the same hardship. That’s why, thanks to your support, we not only feed children; we feed entire families through Mobile Markets, Pantries, Grocery Bags for Seniors, and more.

Join us, because summer days should be full of fun and care-free thoughts rather than the worry of where your next meal will come from.
