Volunteer Spotlight: Chebryll Edwards

by | Sep 14, 2026 | Volunteer, Working Together

For years, Chebryll has supported Inter-Faith Food Shuttle from a distance, giving because she felt deeply connected to the mission. Then, in 2023, retirement opened the door for her to make a hands-on impact in her community. Volunteering with Food Shuttle just felt like a natural next step. She began volunteering onsite with Grocery Bags for Seniors and Food Service prep, where she continues to share her time and talents with our community.

She describes this chapter in her life as a time to slow down, let go of pressure and make more room for the people and experiences that bring her joy. When she’s not volunteering with Food Shuttle, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, soaking up time by the water and sharing her smile with the rest of the world! We feel truly fortunate that Chebryll regularly chooses to spend some of her time with us. It is heartwarming to see how her time in the culinary department has evolved from an act of service into a source of laughter and connection, rooted in a shared commitment to helping neighbors facing food insecurity.

With a kind spirit and a huge heart, Chebryll continues to show how a little time and a lot of heart can make a meaningful difference. Even when the need can feel overwhelming, she reminds us that change begins with individuals choosing to act. Volunteers like Chebryll help keep the Food Shuttle moving, and her example invites all of us to consider how we can put our values into motion and be part of the work to nourish our neighbors!

We’re so grateful that Chebryll has chosen to share her time, energy and joy with the Food Shuttle community.
