Raleigh- The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will hold the 50th graduation ceremony for its nine Culinary Job Training Program students on Friday, March 19 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at 1001 Blair Drive Raleigh, NC 27603.
The students who graduate from the 11-week program will have gained valuable skills going into a competitive job market. In addition to learning how to prepare 50 different meals, the students are taught extensive kitchen skills, employment training, and life skills training. The program also provides ServSafe certification on the manager’s level.
“We are excited about this 50th graduation for two reasons: First, we are continuing to offer to our community a much needed service and providing individuals with a not so promising past, a skill to help them change the future. Second, it is awesome to have nine students embracing these new skills and making necessary life changes. This Program is another venue where IFFS attacks the hunger in our community, because we truly believe that hunger is unacceptable,” said Sharon Mitchell, CJTP Director of Programs and Case Management at the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
This is a milestone event for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and the Culinary Job Training Program. To date, 275 students have graduated and hold an employment rate of 70 percent. The Program is free for students and the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle covers all costs. The 51st Culinary Job Training Program’s session begins on April 5.

About the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle
The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is a non-profit organization that provides food for people at risk of hunger in seven counties in the Greater Triangle area. The Food Shuttle works with a network of over 200 partner agencies including soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and programs for children, adults and seniors.
