TIPPER TIE, Inc. Awards $10,000 to INTER-FAITH FOOD SHUTTLE

Funds will be used to support the Teaching Farm and other innovative ways to end hunger. Apex, NC – Tipper Tie announced that it has awarded a grant in the amount of $10,000  to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, an innovative hunger-relief organization serving seven counties in central and eastern North Carolina.

The contribution was supported in part through a matching grant initiative by the philanthropic arm of TIPPER TIE’s parent company, Dover Corporation. The Dover Foundation helps to support not-for-profit organizations, causes and/or projects that benefit the local communities in which its Operating Companies are located.

In addition to the monetary donation, TIPPER TIE plans to organize employee volunteering events with the IFFS and its Teaching Farm.

“We are honored to partner with an organization that not only serves urgent needs of delivering food but also follows along with many creative programs that provide a hand up for the community,” said Bill Roy, TIPPER TIE Vice President Operations.

Volunteer Group Coordinator Gary Lowden commented: “We are excited for this opportunity to donate both time and money to the IFFS programs. Their efforts to address short term needs as well as long term sustainability via education and experiential learning are admirable. It’s a perfect match to the focus of TIPPER TIE’s Community Service Program.”

Andrew Hart, Design Engineer and coordinator of the employee volunteering initiative with IFFS, added: “I am looking forward to working side-by-side with my coworkers in serving our community through the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.”

IFFS Executive Director, Dave Koch said: “We are so impressed with TIPPER TIE’s commitment to get involved with our cause, from the top management team to the front line employee. We look forward to their volunteer support and applaud their community leadership.”
