Committed Volunteers

On October 28th, InterFaith Food Shuttle had one of our regular volunteer groups, Oak City Baptist Church, come out and pack bags for Grocery Bags for Seniors. Oak City comes to the Food Shuttle every fourth Saturday to volunteer and according to church member, Verdie, their ministry has been working with the Food Shuttle for 15-16 years!

All the church members worked diligently and with gusto to pack 158 bags of produce, as well as loaves of bread for residents of Sir Walter Raleigh Apartments in downtown Raleigh. When asked the question of why the church volunteers with the Food Shuttle, Calvin Davis answered, “It’s like that song goes…it is in my heart to serve.”

Below are some photographs of the Oak City volunteers.
