Horizon Catering, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s for-profit catering enterprise, has launched an entirely new slate of menus offering fresh, locally grown meals designed to tempt the palate and delight customers’ guests. The decision to revamp the catering effort was spurred in part by the organization’s great access to local produce through Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s Farm, as well as the State Farmer’s Market, which is practically right outside Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s backdoor.
Additionally, the Horizon Catering team—led by Culinary Chef Jim Hinger—has an extensive background in events and that experience is reflected in the menus, as well. Now’s a great time to check out the menus for your fall gatherings, holiday parties and more. Many brides and event planners are looking out further to springtime and summer weddings and other events.
Kara Guido, Catering Sales Manager, says that she often speaks to brides who like the idea of spending part of their wedding budget giving back to the community. “When they are spending so much money on all of the expenses that go into a wedding, they like knowing that the money they put into good, quality catering goes toward an organization that helps others.”
In addition to the wonderful array of delectable dishes that are served up by Horizon Catering, it’s the impact each client has on ending hunger that makes Horizon Catering unique.
All profits earned by the company benefit Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s mission to pioneer innovative, transformative solutions designed to end hunger in our community. Putting food on a plate is not enough: the Food Shuttle offers programs that to empower people with skills to meet their own food needs, through culinary apprentice training, gardening and healthy cooking classes on a budget. By partnering with Horizon Catering, clients are giving back in a meaningful way and helping to make the community hunger-free.
