Feeding the Carolinas announced a Virtual Food Drive hosted by Sentinel Risk Advisors LLC to support a network of local food banks across the company’s North Carolina and South Carolina footprint, including Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Sentinel’s month-long campaign will provide vital hunger relief for individuals and families affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has caused devastating effects in the Carolinas and continues to put our local communities at risk,” stated Sentinel Risk Advisors Managing Partner Jim Holmes. “As an organization, we are compelled to take the lead in this initiative and invite our network of clients and business partners to join us as we aim to raise $1 million to support those impacted by food insecurity.”
Donations will be accepted online by visiting sentinelra.com, beginning April 1st. All proceeds generated during the month-long campaign will directly benefit member food banks, and you can select Inter-Faith Food Shuttle as your beneficiary.
“We are thankful for the leadership of Sentinel Risk Advisors in hosting this online fundraising event,” said Feeding the Carolinas Executive Director Mike Darrow. “They recognize how critical it is to supply nutritious food to families and seniors during this unprecedented time, and the need for funds to do so. Our member Food Banks are on the frontline addressing hunger for our friends and neighbors in need.”
Sentinel’s campaign will garner financial support and generate awareness around the unprecedented rise in food insecurity throughout the Carolinas, including the Food Shuttle’s seven-county service area. All donations made to the Food Shuttle will directly support its mission to Feed, Teach, and Grow in the community.
“The global pandemic has created many challenges for those in need of our services,” stated Inter-Faith Food Shuttle President and CEO Ron Pringle. “Every contribution and supportive action ensures that we turn no one away and that every child seeking assistance can receive the nourishing meals they need.”
The virtual food drive campaign is an extension of Sentinel Risk Advisors ongoing support and involvement in the local communities where the company operates. Each year, the risk management and insurance brokerage firm provides its employees 40 paid hours to volunteer in their community, which included service at local food banks in every corner of the two states.
