Subaru of America, Inc. and its retailers are dedicated to making the world a better place. To that end, they have donated 100 million meals to 199 food banks across the Feeding America network, which includes a generous $28,989 donation to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. The Subaru grant to Feeding America and the Food Shuttle is part of the Subaru Loves to Help initiative. And help it does.
Right now, millions of Americans are out of work and unable to provide adequate nourishment for themselves and for their families. In fact, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, one in four children in this country may face hunger. Subaru is helping to contribute an additional 100 million meals to Feeding America, which will help food banks like the Food Shuttle secure the resources needed to serve people who are struggling during this time of uncertainty.
Local Subaru retailers who have contributed to this funding effort include Southern States Subaru, Hendrick Subaru Southpoint, and Johnson Subaru of Cary. Their donations support Food Shuttle programs like BackPack Buddies, Grocery Bags for Seniors, and other hunger-fighting initiatives that serve communities in the seven-county service area in central North Carolina.
“Once again, Subaru is working with Feeding America to help the millions of families struggling with hunger across the U.S.,” said Thomas J. Doll, President and CEO, Subaru of America, Inc. “As we continue to weather these unprecedented times together, we hope our contribution to Feeding America ensures the most vulnerable members of our communities are fed and cared for.”
