Our supporters rallied to the call on #GivingTuesday, this worldwide day of support for causes. We appreciate every gift supporting our work to feed, teach, grow, and cultivate an end to hunger in central North Carolina. The total raised was just under $32,000, including a generous gift from Duke Health Foundation for $10,000! Thank you!
Since 2012, Giving Tuesday has been inspiring people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. We may be biased, but our supporters, volunteers, and partners are uniquely big-hearted. We appreciate donors choosing Inter-Faith Food Shuttle in a season of many needs and our volunteers who give their time and labor to help us grow, pack, and distribute food.
“Your community support is so meaningful on this Global Day of Giving. I’m proud to imagine our crowd of givers joining those worldwide – in a unified stance of compassion and outreach. We appreciate all that stand in the circle of support. From new and returning donors, to corporate supporters, to Board members, everyone has demonstrated such commitment to sharing our vision of a hunger-free community.” – L. Ron Pringle, President, and CEO of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
While we didn’t make our goal on Tuesday, there are still opportunities to be part of the #GivingTuesday donor circle. Your gifts help programs like our Mobile Markets and School Choice Pantries that bring food within easy reach of our neighbors in these cold days of winter.
Check out the hard workers who served hundreds of families and individuals this week through La Semilla’s Mobile Market on November 30th in Raleigh. People waited in the bitter cold for food, and volunteers bundled up to serve their neighbors with warm smiles. The Food Shuttle’s Spinning Plate Food Truck was also on hand to serve meals to attendees! That is community serving community, and the way of the Food Shuttle. Thank you for joining the movement to erase hunger so that programs like La Semilia’s and our Spinning Plate Food Truck have food to share and people are fed.
