In the quest to support our community and combat food insecurity, both fund drives and food drives play essential roles. These initiatives not only allow us to gather resources, but also foster a spirit of collaboration among friends, family, and colleagues. Best of all, they can run simultaneously, maximizing the impact of your efforts!
What’s the Difference?
Fund Drives enable you to leverage the Food Shuttle’s bulk purchasing power through donations. This approach allows your contributions to stretch further by purchasing essential non-perishable food items at a reduced cost. Setting up a fund drive is incredibly simple—just reach out to our team at fooddrives@foodshuttle.org. We will create a unique online donation page for your workplace, community, or organization, which you can share via social media, email, etc.
Food Drives, on the other hand, involve collecting physical non-perishable food items. This traditional method encourages community participation and raises awareness about local food needs. To organize a food drive, just fill out the food drive form found here. You can engage your community in gathering donations!
Simultaneous Impact
Running a fund drive and a food drive at the same time can amplify your impact. As you collect food items locally, you can also encourage monetary donations to enhance the variety and quantity of resources available. For instance, as your community brings in cans and boxes, they can also support the fund drive to enable the Food Shuttle to purchase additional essential items.
Food insecurity affects many families in our neighborhoods, and it’s vital that everyone has access to the nourishment they need to thrive. By participating in both a fund drive and a food drive, you’re not only providing immediate assistance but also raising awareness about the ongoing challenges within our community. Every can collected and every dollar donated contributes to our programs!
Get Started Today!
