On Monday, April 27, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle moved its emergency food packing operation into space provided by long-time ally Marbles Kids Museum. Marbles is currently closed as part of NC’s stay-at-home order. Using its large space to support the work of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is one-way the Museum continues to serve the community.

BARBECUE CHAMPIONS TEAM UP AGAINST HUNGER
On Friday, April 17, eight of the barbecue cooks from the Whole Hog Barbecue Series spread out in the parking lot of the Vernon Malone Center—home to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle—to set up their pits and cook up 150 pork barbecue shoulders donated by the North Carolina Pork Council and the National Pork Board.

As information regarding COVID-19 unfolds, in efforts to adhere to CDC guidelines and protect the health of volunteers and staff, the Board of Directors of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle made the decision to suspend most volunteer activities until further notice. First Horizon Bank has made a generous and timely donation of $25,000 from their Foundation to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. This grant will enable the Food Shuttle to continue developing alternative ways to feed families, children and seniors in light of the current situation unfolding due to COVID-19.
