Lemonade Dreams: Helping Neighbors in Need
Now, at the ripe age of 7 years, Charlie has come up with a new way of supporting the hunger relief effort that is so close to his heart. He and his brother, 4-year-old Ford, recruited several of their neighborhood friends to host a lemonade stand to benefit BackPack Buddies. The boys and their friends wanted to do something for their peers going back to school to help them start off on the right foot.

Cooking Matters Provides Sweet Opportunity for Students at Governor Morehead School
The Food Shuttle’s Community Health Education team presented Cooking Matters , a six-week culinary and nutrition education program, for students at the Governor Morehead School. Each week, a team consisting of a volunteer chef and a nutritionist taught about healthy eating and walked students through simple yet delicious recipes.
Gardens For Everyone Kickstarts Green Thumb Adventures for Local Gardeners
Last July, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s Gardens For Everyone program built Natalya a raised-bed garden box and helped her kickstart her gardening adventure. The Gardens For Everyone program helps local individuals and families access fresh and affordable produce right outside their own homes and experience the joy of growing their own food.
