Feeding America Grant Funds New Diabetes Education for Seniors Program
The Community Health Education Department at Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is launching a new program called Diabetes Education for Seniors. The goal of this program is to help older adults manage their diabetes through access to diabetes education and an increase in healthy food needed to support the condition including whole grains, high fiber foods, and produce.
Community Health Education Expands Programming to Reach Diverse Groups
Word has gotten out: Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s Community Health Education (CHE) program has tailor- made life skills curricula for the diverse populations that make up our community of neighbors. Our inclusive programming can be adapted to fit the special requirements of individual audiences, meeting community members at their point of need and ensuring that the lessons being taught resonate and have a true impact with those in attendance.

Food Shuttle and CORRAL Riding Academy Riding Together in Successful Partnership
Making a difference for our neighbors is what Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is all about. Forming partnerships with like-minded organizations strengthens that ability to have a real impact and advances the cause of long-term transformation throughout the community with greater and more far-reaching results. When the opportunity to team up with CORRAL Riding Academy arose, the Food Shuttle saddled up. and the partnership has been riding high ever since.
Community Health Education Initiative Prepares to Launch "Spanish Family Kitchen" Video Series
In an effort to be more culturally inclusive and broaden the reach of the Community Health Education initiative, a “Spanish Family Kitchen” series is currently in the works. The series will not only be presented in the Spanish language, but will feature nutrition information, culturally familiar recipes, and activities relevant to the LatinX community. A summer launch is planned for the online series.
Cooking and nutrition on the go! Introducing the Charlie Cart
Now, thanks to individual and corporate donors that support the Food Shuttle, we have entered a new era of flexibility that will allow cooking classes to be held just about anywhere through the purchase of a Charlie Cart.
