Our Back-to-School campaign reminds us that along with pencils and paper, children need a daily supply of food to take on new concepts, run on playgrounds, and socialize more successfully.
Our Community Health and Agriculture Education teams have collaborated to develop the new Food Shuttle Academy, an online learning platform with free, self-paced lessons on health, nutrition, agriculture, and more!
Our Spring Match challenge, made possible by generous funders, including SOLV Energy and the Mead Family Foundation, exceeded the $105,000 goal, raising an additional $70,000 to erase hunger!
Love, Tito’s has a heart for community gardens and increasing access to fresh, healthy foods. Their philanthropic Love, Tito’s Block to Block program, reconnects neighborhoods and creates community gardens and farms throughout the United States. Our hearts are in full bloom knowing that our Camden Street Garden will be the next beneficiary of Block to Block, allowing neighbors with mobility challenges to access our many activities more easily.

Tuesday, November 29 was #GivingTuesday, and Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s supporters marked the occasion by digging deep and giving generously in support of efforts to feed, teach, grow, and cultivate an end to hunger in our community. The total raised in one-day giving amounted to $45,958.

December 1 through December 31, during our You are the Heart of Our Community campaign, all gifts to the Food Shuttle will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $100,000.
Brighten your holiday season with WRAL Nights of Lights Drive-Thru Light Show at Dorothea Dix Park, brought to you by WRAL/Capitol Broadcasting Company in partnership with the City of Raleigh. On Saturday, December 10, visitors to Nights of Lights will have the opportunity to help create a hunger free community during Food Lion Feeds Night in support of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
Now, at the ripe age of 7 years, Charlie has come up with a new way of supporting the hunger relief effort that is so close to his heart. He and his brother, 4-year-old Ford, recruited several of their neighborhood friends to host a lemonade stand to benefit BackPack Buddies. The boys and their friends wanted to do something for their peers going back to school to help them start off on the right foot.

Rachel’s passion for serving her community made her the perfect choice to nominate for 7th Annual Food Lion Feedys Awards, which honor people who go above and beyond to fight hunger. She received the Lion Heart Award in recognition of her outstanding skills in coordinating and motivating volunteers.
